Step 1: The Discovery Call
Every process must begin with a Discovery Call. It is roughly 15 minutes in length and simply allows us to have a casual conversation about what you are looking to accomplish and how I can help. We’ll briefly discuss the scope of your project, location, approximate investment amount, all parties involved, and when you would like to start. I ask that you please review my website to ensure that Mavella Home’s signature style is a good fit for you. If you don’t know where to start, or haven’t worked with an Interior Designer before, don’t worry, I’m here for you!
Step 2: The Initial Consultation
After the Discovery Call, we will mutually agree to move onto the second step, which is the Initial Consultation. This meeting is 1.5 – 2 hours in length and allows me the opportunity to meet you in your home and take a tour of the space(s) in question. We’ll discuss your project goals, vision, and any “must have” requests. We’ll review any inspiration photos you may have to determine your style and aesthetic, but most importantly, we’ll discuss how you would like your home to function for you and your family. We’ll cover your overall investment amount, design services, as well as next steps to move forward. It’s also the time to get excited because you are one step closer to achieving the design of your dreams! All fees must be paid in full prior to the Initial Consultation.
Step 3: Choose a Design Service
1. Full-Service Custom Design
Are you a busy, hard-working professional that would love to renovate your home, but you simply don’t have the time to design, shop, and manage the project and trades? Do you feel like it needs to get done, but you just don’t know where to start, or who to trust? Would you prefer not to worry about it and trust the design process and vision of a professional and get the Mavella Home signature style?
This premium turn-key experience allows me to manage your entire project from concept to completion, right down to the last fluff of the pillow! This service is offered for individual rooms, as well as an entire home.
After the Initial Consultation, I will have a full understanding of the needs and desires for your space. I will create a custom design plan that will elevate your home to its fullest potential, considering both function and lifestyle.
This vision will be presented to you to allow you to visualize the look and feel of your new space(s). You will have the opportunity to view vision boards, floor plans, renderings, and feel the designer fabrics. Upon your approval, I will take care of everything for you, which includes sourcing, procurement, ordering, tracking, arranging deliveries, installation, and styling for the big reveal day. All that’s left is to sit back, enjoy, and make memories for many years to come! Fifty percent of this package total must be paid in full prior to commencing design services and the remaining 50% must be paid in full 5 days prior to the Initial Presentation meeting.
2. Designer By Your Side
Designer By Your Side service allows you to have a professional to guide you confidently through your project(s) and help you where you need it the most. From recommendations in sourcing your selections and finishes, to custom furniture purchases, I will assist you in achieving a cohesive look and well put together design. With my expertise and knowledge, you can feel confident knowing that you have me by your side to offer solid advice and answer any questions relating to any design aspects of your project(s).
Examples of design services may include, but are not limited to:
- Space planning and layout ideas
- Complete main floor remodel/renovation
- Kitchen and bath refresh or remodel/renovation
- Sourcing and selections of finishes and furnishings
- Liaising and meeting with trades and vendors
- On-site appointments and walk-throughs
- Sourcing and selections of decorative elements such as window treatments, area rugs, accessories, and picture framing to finish and pull a space together
- Siding, brick, stone, garage doors, entry, and patio doors
- Doors, windows, trim, crown molding, and baseboards
- Flooring (hardwood, tile, carpet, etc…)
- Wall tiles (backsplash, shower, stone, and grout colors)
- Lighting (pendants, chandeliers, sconces, and lamps)
- Countertops and profile selections
- Interior and exterior paint colors and finishes
- Cabinetry style, color, and hardware selections
- Plumbing fixtures (faucets, sinks, tubs, and shower controls)
This service is for a block of 20 hours and includes both in-person meetings and design work performed remotely. All fees must be paid in full prior to commencing design services. When there are five hours remaining, I will notify you and together we will determine if an additional block of hours is needed. At this point, block sizes can vary, with a minimum of 5 hours.
3. One-on-One Design Consulting
I can provide expert guidance with a focused consultation, or I can meet you at a design center or retailer. The intention is to get down to business and answer any questions you may have, so that you will feel confident, knowing you are headed in the right direction. All fees must be paid in full prior to the consultation.
